Quick question before I accept my offer. I was offered admission for the summer session, but I just found out that it would be more convenient for me to start in the fall. Do I have to attend summer session if that's what I've been accepted for?

Thanks!

Yes. They offered you summer session admission to determine if you can meet their academic standards. Many students are accepted with this provision.

^ Yes as mentioned above, if you choose not to attend summer, you are choosing not to attend Penn State.

The only way to opt out of summer is if you start at a branch campus.

If you have new SAT scores, appeal the decision and ask to be considered for fall.

Thanks, everyone! I actually called the undergraduate admissions office, and there wasn’t a problem moving the offer to fall. I got my new letter today. So if anyone else is having the same problem, give it a shot.

Hi everyone! I was offered admission for summer as well. Now I have already accepted my offer, but I still sent the admission office an email about moving my offer from summer to fall. Do you think I still stand a chance getting offer for fall? Thank!

Christyllky, you might, but summer session is also a great time to start. The classes are smaller, more relaxed, and it’s only 6 weeks long. You can still work summer break and vacations around those 6 weeks.

Good luck! :-)
