Sorry for the last minute n00b question, I'm just really confused. I heard UCR doesn't require the completion of IGETC, however, do other schools such as UCI, UCLA, UCB, UCSD, UCSB, and other require the competition of IGETC to transfer? Also, I'm tagged with UCI, does that mean I have to complete IGETC to transfer?

Unbelievable. I've read that thing like 5 times yet I still didn't know. Thanks!

Haha, it is because there is so much information and so many links, I can spend days trying to read and understand what everyone is talking about! What is your major?
UCLA advises the completion of IGETC for all majors. IGETC is not appropriate for students planning to transfer to the following majors and to attend the following universities.
UC Berkeley: Colleges of Chemistry, Engineering, Environmental Design, Natural Resources and the Haas School of Business
UC Davis: College of Engineering
UC Riverside: College of Engineering
UC San Diego: Revelle or Roosevelt Colleges, students under TAG contracts, and the Division of Engineering
UC Santa Barbara: College of Engineering

IGETC is not recommended for studnets planning to transfer to the following majors and attend the following universities:
UC Berkeley: School of Optometry and Majors in Biological Sciences and Physical Sciences and Psychology
UC Davis: BS Degrees in the College of Agricultural & Environmental Sciences,
Letters & Sciences, and the Division of Biological Science
UC Irvine: School of Engineering, Biological Sciences and Physical Sciences
UC Riverside: College of Natural and Agricultural Sciences and College of Engineering
UC Santa Barbara: College of Creative Studies, and Majors in Biological Sciences, Biopsychology, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Geology and Geophysics
UC Santa Cruz: Majors in Science and Environmental Studies

Do you have a quick link where can I figure out if I completed the IGETC? I wasn't following it since its not required but I may have completed it anyway, might as well put yes if I did, can only be a plus.

Russiangirl2008, my major is Biological Sciences (ut oh).

I'm applying to UCI, UCR, UCSB, UCLA, UCD. The thing is though, I already completed my IGETC, I made this topic for a friend of mine....

What does it mean by "not recommended for students?" Does that mean I shouldn't have completed IGETC? So far, I've completed 59 units and I'm tagged at UCI. My GPA is 3.59.

Thanks for the info.

CStheGreat, if you are tagged at UCI, then you do not have to worry about IGETC. If you completed both that means you have less or no lower-divison GE to worry about. IGETC is for people, who are not tagged, like me. I completed it, so I could start working on the upper-division classes when I transfer. I don't know why it says, "not recommended for students" on the back of my IGETC paper, but maybe, they mean students, who have to complete more lower-division GEs when they transfer to UCI. Since you are tagged, I am sure you completed everything. So, you have done extra work, good for you ; )
