hey m currently a high schooler..
m goin to college this fall and i was wonderin whether i have to use aim..
coz i heard lots of americans use that instead of msn..
i have used only msn in my life..
but still..
just askin if i should create one or not..

AIM is prevalent in America. If you want to be able to use both, download and install GAIM. It's an indepently run multi-protocol IM program, which means you can be logged on to AIM and MSN at the same time and have everybody appear on the same buddylist. I'd say GAIM is much better than AIM or MSN in every aspect except for file transfer, which can be considered shaky at best. I keep AIM installed just in case I ever need to do a file transfer, but otherwise I'm always on GAIM.

I have both MSN and AIM. All of my friends who have instant messenging have MSN. The only reason I have AIM is because a few of my out-of-town friends have it. That's interesting how it varies so much in different areas. I think MSN Messenger is far better than AIM, no competition in my opinion.

yes, you absolutely have to create an aim otherwise the college is going to put you on the probation list. chances are, they are going to drop your admission and you will end up working somewhere on the street.

lol...i'm from taiwan and used msn for years until i came here. everyone here has aim so i got it, but honestly, facebook is better unless you're talking about something more personal =)
