Do I have to have an ADT to transfer to a CSU or is just an AA okay?

Hi everyone! I’m hoping someone can help me out with this question.

I’m a transfer student and I have applied to CSUN for the the fall 2015 semester. I won’t be receiving an Associates Degree for Transfer in my Geography major, however. I’m just getting an Associates Degree in General Studies with an emphasis in social and behavioral sciences. I saw on CSUN’s website that you can transfer with ADT, but I didn’t see anything about about just an AA. Will I be okay with just an AA? I have all the prerequisites done for their Geography program. Will not having the ADT affect my chances of getting in?

No, you don’t need an ADT to transfer, but it could be helpful. Transfer degrees guarantee you admission into the CSU system, but not at a specific campus. It also bumps up your GPA by .1 to make you more competitive.

You can still transfer with an AA (or not), just as long as you have your 60 units of GE, golden four, prereqs, and the required GPA. Best of luck to you! God bless
