Do I have to reapply if I was accepted the first time (Barnard)

I was accepted to Barnard last year but have to attend a state school because of finances. If I want to transfer to Barnard do I have to reapply completely? I know some schools are more lenient with people who were already admitted and only make them send a transcript and new letters of rec.

You’d have to check the specific policy with Barnard, but generally speaking, yes you’ll have to apply completely all over again. I’d be astonished if you didn’t have to.

I’m sure I’ll have to as well. I’ve heard of schools that make the application a formality for previously accepted students, but maybe those schools were less selective.

I can’t say I’ve ever heard of that. I’m not saying it doesn’t happen, but if it does it is exceedingly rare. A lot can change about a student in a semester or a year. A student that had a 4.0 can slip quite a bit if they have a bad semester.
