Do I have to send both my SAT and ACT scores?

I am currently a junior in high school and I have yet to take either the SAT or the ACT, although I plan on taking the SAT next month. I know that for UCLA I would have to send all of my SAT scores. However, if I take both the SAT and the ACT, do I have to send every score from both?

Also, if I don’t do all that well the first time on my SAT (1800-2000), would that hurt me even if I got a good second score (2200+)? By the way I also have a really good gpa and extracurriculars, so across the board I think I look pretty good on paper.

I’m mainly asking for UCLA because I know it is a competitive school and I would like to go there, but any guidance would be appreciated. (:

UCLA like all the other UC’s want all your scores but will take the highest total score from one sitting. If you are unsure of how you will do, you can wait until you receive your scores and then send them later for a price but in the end, they will see all the scores anyways. My son’s did better on the ACT (which they took twice) and sent only their ACT scores to the UC’s instead of the SAT scores. You might just want to wait to see if you do significantly better on one test vs. the other.

Great! Thank you!
