Does this mean that if I take the ACT once and am not satisfied with my score...I don't have to send it? So it will be like I never even took the ACT?

Yep, that's right! If you fill out the score report thing when you take the test, the scores will be sent, but you don't have to do that beforehand. You can always wait until you see it.

There are three ways a college can learn your ACT score:

You order it sent -- ACT sends only those scores you order sent to a college.

It is on your official high school transcript -- many high schools put all your test scores on your transcript.

The college's application specifically requests that you provide all scores and you answer.
