On my college app, if I check the box for "score not yet received" under the ACT section, then that means I would HAVE to send my ACT score when it comes out right? I'm planning on taking the December ACT, but my app is due Nov 30. The ACT scores come out when I have already submitted my app, so that leaves me with the option of checking "score not yet received". I was thinking that if I do poorly on the ACT, I just won't send my score to the colleges. But if I'm taking the December one...am I required to send my score b/c I told the colleges that my ACT score is not yet received?

Well does the school REQUIRE an ACT score? If they don’t, there’s no harm in not sending it if you do poorly. However, keep in mind that the ACT scores for December don’t come out until DECEMBER 27th. The full score report won’t come out until December 30th or so, which is cutting it way too close.

It’s not required. So what you’re saying is that even if I tell the colleges that “score is not yet received”, I don’t have to send it right?
