Do I have to send my AP Exam Scores?

HELP!!! Here’s the case: I reported 3 AP exams on Common Application, but since it said “the number of AP U wish to report,” I didn’t report all the AP I took this year (bcuz some of them were too bad). I wonder if I HAVE to send all my AP scores to the universities that I applied to through College Board or it’s OK if I do not send my scores to those universities. I’ve asked many people these days but their answers varied.

I understand there is a way to only send selected AP test scores, but I am not sure how it is done. Luckily, you only need to send actual test scores after you are admitted. It’s kind of self-policing, because obviously if you self-report scores on your app, you can’t lie about those scores because you would be rescinded. Once accepted, you can then send the scores, and it won’t matter if they see the bad ones. You were accepted, they won’t rescind you for not reporting low AP scores in your original application. Self-reporting AP scores is always optional.

No, you do not (pay to) send AP scores with your applications.

After you have accepted admissions to a school, you may have to officially send those scores if you plan to use AP credits or for class placement, but you will only be sending to them to the school you will attend.

You only have to self report the scores on the application. You can choose to report all/some/none of your scores.

Once you decide which college to attend, you send an official score report to that college. If you want, you can withhold certain scores. Just fill out the below form.

However, as with everything the College Board does, withholding costs money. Honestly, once admitted, it’s not a big deal. The score report goes to the registrar’s office for credit/placement evaluation, and the clerk processing them will not care if you had a bad score. Admissions will likely never see the score report.

Right. Once you’ve matriculated, they know they have you and your tuition. They’re not going do care one way or another your AP score history
