Do I have to take ACT/writing again or can i just take the ACT

I took the ACT with writing and got a 28 with a 10 essay, a fine essay score
Will that 10 essay score stick with me? my friend told me i wouldnt even have to write another essay i could just take the regular act

You have to submit your entire composite when you submit the writing score. So if you’ll have to submit the 28 with the 10 if you don’t retake the writing part

You should not make the assumption that you can avoid taking the writing section a second time… Many colleges don’t even require the writing section and thus you are fine with those. However, most of your high ranks do and those usually won’t use one without the writing section regardless of whether you have submitted another with the writing section. There are some colleges that will use the one without writing as long as you submit one with writing but it is not easy to find out who they are without actually contacting them.
