Do I have to take math at a CSU if I already took AP math classes in high school?

I took the Calculus BC Test and got a 3 (AB Subscore - 4), and this year I am taking AP Statistics. First semester is over and I ended up with an 87%, and for the moment I am confident that I can get at least a 4. Will CSUs (CSUN & CSULB) give me credit for these so that I am exempt from taking math courses during college? I am asking so I know which classes I should register for in the spring.

For CSULB:
Mathematics:
AP Calculus BC score of 3-5 will give credit for Math 122/123.

AP Stats score of 3 will give credit for Stats 108
AP Stats score of 4-5 will give credit for Stats 118.

For CSUN, see link: http://catalog.csun.edu/policies/advanced-placement-ap-credit/

What is your intended major? Depending upon your major, you may still have to take some Math courses at each of these schools. My younger son is a CS major at SDSU. He got credit for 2 Calculus courses for passing AP Calc AB/BC, but still had to take 2 Stats courses (did not take AP Stats), Calc 3 and Discrete Math for his major.

My intended major is Art with a concentration in Animation.

Based on the Art/Animation course curriculum’s for both schools, you would meet all required Math courses needed to complete your major. It will be up to each school to award the course credit, so always double check with which ever school you end up attending during Freshman Orientation.

Okay. Thank you so much!
