Do I have to take physics?

So I’m a rising junior (I know it’s a little early) but I was wondering if I had to take physics in order to be an auto-admit into A&M. I’m safely in the top 10% of my class, but I also have to be on the distinguished high school plan which I’m not sure includes physics or not. I rather not take it but will if I have to. So I’m basically asking if physics is required in order to graduate hs with the distinguished plan in TX.

To be considered auto admit, you have to be on the recommended or distinguished graduating plan.

However, this page says 4 years of Science - Two courses must come from Biology I, Chemistry I OR Physics I

That said,

Principals of Technology can replace physics for those on the recommended plan.
Students on the recommended plan (RHSP) may satisfy the physics credit requirement by successfully
completing Principles of Technology (POT).

Students on the distinguished plan (DAP) may not satisfy the physics credit requirement by successfully
completing Principles of Technology (POT).

Students who substitute Principles of Technology (POT) for physics will be required to take
the End-of-Course (EOC) examination in physics, so that may be a deal breaker for you.

Could you just take regulars physics and not AP physics?

Oh well if I take physics I’ll definitely take the AP version I just didn’t want to take it unless I needed to. I don’t think my school offers principles of tech, but thanks for all the info.

Take AP physics 1 or Honors physics.
