I'm a rising senior and plan on applying to:

Boston U
New York U
Oxford of Emory
U Washington

NOW, on collegeboard.com , under BU and NYU's admission criteria it says:

Admission requirements:

* Essay(s) required
* Required: SAT Reasoning Test or ACT
* If submitting ACT, the writing section is required
* Required: SAT Subject Tests

I, however, haven't taken any SAT subject tests, will I automatically be unqualified for admission?

Thanks for taking the time to read and answer.

Most colleges require 2-3 SAT Subject Tests, usually in core subjects. The majority of these colleges require 1 Math Level II test and another in an area of your choice (preferably one that is related to your prospective major).

Without any SAT Subject Tests, your applications to those schools will probably be considered incomplete, seeing that standardized test scores are a fairly important factor in college admissions. I don't think it's too late to sign up for SAT Subject Tests in September or October; I recommend you look up the dates ASAP on collegeboard.com. Good luck.

Go to the websites of the universities you're looking at, and see what they say.

I went to the school's website for BU and clicked on "Apply" and searched around and found this: "Applicants are required to submit results of the SAT or the ACT (with Writing Test), along with any SAT Subject Tests that are required for admission to the program of application. In most programs, the results of the ACT (with Writing Test) will be considered in lieu of the SAT and SAT Subject Tests. Please consult the Requirements and Standards chart for more detailed information." Then they give you this link:

For UW (what a beautiful campus; I live in Seattle, so I've been there and it's so pretty!), "Freshmen applicants who graduate from high school in 2006 or later must submit scores either from the new SAT or from the ACT with Writing." Send Standardized Tests — Freshman — Apply — University of Washington In other words, no SAT II's needed.

And yes, BU and NYU will not accept you if you don't send them scores of 2 SAT Subject Tests, so make sure you arrange to take them.

Lesson: You can find everything you need on the college websites. Just browse around the "Undergraduate admissions" or "Apply" pages to see what you need.

Definitely take a look at each individual college's website; don't just rely on the Collegeboard database (it's useful, but the university website will be the most accurate)
