If I have been in the US for over 5 years, do I still have to take the TOEFL exam?

Thanks

No I dont think so. But you might want to write to the Colleges and ask.

Usually as long as you can prove English is the language of instruction in your school, you don't have to take the Toefl...the fact that you have been in the U.S for 5 years should make that self-explanatory to the college - but yes...always better to email admissions and ask.

Some colleges are *****y and force you to take the TOEFL even if you can prove that you are perfectly fluent (i.e. like over the phone, at a visit, etc.) but most of them are flexible and will waive it for you despite your being international if you can show them that you don't need it.

No, if your test scores (critical reading/english) are decent.

I dont think you need to at all. Just show proof that English has been your first language for the past five years.
