Do i have too many CC hours?

Hi! I am 22 and I go to CC in St.louis, MO
After this semester I will have about 80 credits.(92 actually but 12 is ESL courses) I might move to california this summer and I have to make a decision between SFSU and Peralta district CC. (meritt vista laney) If i go to Peralta for a year and get good gpa, will i have any chance to get into UCs? I will have more than 100 credits...I am afraid I will get rejected because of that..Is it ok to retake some courses and boost up my GPA to avoid having too many credits? thanks

If ALL the UNITS COME FROM COMMUNITY COLLEGEs, then you are still eligible to transfer even if you have more than 90 semester units. However, if you already take courses in a university and with 90 semester units or more, you are not eligible to transfer into UCs.

I have over 100 semester-unit after summer 06! But I still get in all the UC's I applied.

but i have an important question, are u a cali resident?

no im not a cal resident yet. i will be a resident after a year. so i think i should go to CC since its much cheaper. is it bad if you retake courses and get better grade?

shirley what was your gpa? i wanna go to UCI :)

3.3 when I applied, biochemistry
I got in ucsd, ucla and uci with this s*** grade. And I also know a guy whose gpa was 3.2x got in ucla impacted major too.
i feel so bad, cuz i need to retake loads of courses in uc:(

Were you the one who had so many units with a trouble in a bio class and many Ds and Cs but you repeated them and got better grades?

yes, but you can't retake course with a C in CC. You can only retake it in UC.
