I am looking to major in business or engineering, and i applied ED to NYU Sterns.

My current colleges I am applying to are:
Colgate
Cornell
Duke
Emory
Georgetown
Upenn
Notre Dame
Cornegie Mellon

Do you think these schools are all reach, or match/reach? I dont want to get rejected by all of them or something… What safety schools do you thinkI should paply to?

I think you'd be a good match for Carnegie Mellon, ND, Emory, and perhaps Georgetown. UPenn, Duke and Cornell would be reaches. Colgate is a definite safety.

What do you mean too many "matches"? I think that list is okay as it is, but maybe you might want to add one or two more 100%-safeties.

u dont think emory is a safety too, I thought emory was easier than colgate.

Oh, I'm sorry. I guess so then--I always had the impression that Emory was nearer to the "quality" (for lack of another term) of Carnegie Mellon, Lehigh, etc.

im just worried ill get rejected by all since I go to a pretty bad high school. I hope colleges like SAT scores lol

Colgate should be a safe school for you, however, you should still apply to a school that you are 99.9% sure of getting in to and one that you are 95%.

New York has a great state school system; it might be worth sending off a quick app there.

Look at schools with 50-75% acceptance rates for safety schools for you. U.S. News as well as college guidebooks (Fisks, Princeton Review) are good places to search.

Also, if money will be an issue, find school that offer merit based aid and other scholarships.

For a safety you should put Suny Bing or Buffalo. And for your NYU ED, I hope you really aren't that interested in Engineering, because NYU does NYU even have an engineering dept? they have to partner with Stevens Institute of Tech or something
