Do I have what it takes to get into Berkeley?

I have a 3.86 GPA and a 30 on the ACT. My school only offers 2 AP classes, and I am currently taking AP Government. I have taken many honors courses (but I don't think UCB will count those); however, I have not taken World History. I am not sure if this will hurt my chances. I have taken Psychology/Sociology, so maybe that would make up for it.

I have volunteered in my church all four years. I have been a student leader in my youth group. I have started a Bible Club at my school, which I continue to co-lead. I was on the swim team (JV) 9th-10th grade, but I moved so I had to quit. I am the editor of my newspaper (only this year). I participated last year. I have been in hospital volunteer programs, shadowing doctors, etc. I have a job at Burger King. That's about it.

Do I have what it takes in your opinion? I am almost done with the app; I just need to do the essays.

Thanks!

It would be a slight reach. Your grades are within the range of average admits, but your ACT is fairly low and your ECs are not that great. You should apply for the other UCs as safties.

I have over 200 service hours total in these various programs. Does that help at all?

Sure volunteering hours help but not significantly. Your GPA (I’m assuming UC GPA?) and ACT is on the lower end of admittance so I’d say UCB is a low reach (30/70) as for now. Try your best on the essays as it’s the only thing that you can actually do to increase the chance of acceptance.
