Do i heed to ask for rec letter rite now?

My math teacher is not going to teach me in gr12....should i ask for a rec letter rite now? becoz 2006 common app forms is not out.....can i download the 2005 form and ask her to fill out???

discuss it with the people you want recs from now. thats a good idea. If not, ask at the BEGINNING of senior year.

(discuss it now and give them the forms when the forms come out)

I recommend that you ask your Math teacher now if he/she would be willing to write a rec letter for you in the fall, and how much lead time he/she would like. (i.e. 2 weeks or 1 month notice)

But the form ,,, i mean new form is not coming out yet....

You should ask the teacher now, and then give the teacher the new form in early September with a stamped envelope. Some teachers will write the recs over the summer.

yea, def give them some time to mull over the idea of writing your rec...some of my teachers acted really put upon and didnt cooperate as much as they probably should have

another ques: after I give them letters and stamp, as well as eval forms, is it me to send all this out? or is it the teacher's job?

The teachers mail the recs out directly. You provide them with the rec form, and an addressed, stamped envelope.

so in a case of applying to multiple colleges, we should give them multiple envelopes, and just ask the teachers to print out multiple copies?

um...they'll photocopy, but yes. You'll be using common app for most of your applications.
