I recently applied to three CSU’s, San Diego state, cal poly slo, and Monterey bay. I included my freshmen year grades in my gpa, but I heard you are only supposed to include sophomore and junior year grades. If that is so, who should I contact?
You include all grades from Freshman through Junior Year. Your CSU GPA will be based on your a-g course grades from Sophomore-Junior year only. Freshman grades are needed to make sure you have fulfilled the a-g course requirements for the CSU’s. You are fine, so no worries and Good Luck.
Thank you for commenting, but I’m still confused. There was a spot where I filled in what my gpa is. I just put the gpa that was on my unofficial transcript, which included all my courses not just a-g classes. But you say that gpa should have been a-g classes only that I took sophomore and junior year?
Don’t worry about your GPA. The schools will recalculate it using the self-reported grades on your application. The CSU GPA is useful if you are trying to gauge your chances on an acceptance at a particular school since the Cal States use an eligibility index to determine minimum thresholds for each Major.
Okay thank you so much !
