Do I need a science course in my senior yr even though I have already taken 5 science courses?

I am going to be a senior the following year, and so far I have taken Integrated Science, Honors Bio, Honors Chem, AP Physics 1, AP Chemistry. I have originally registered for AP bio but am hoping to take AP US History instead. And doing so will mean no science course in my senior.
Will that affect my admissions to some colleges? When the colleges say “four years of science,” do they mean literally science every year, or is it okay as long as I have four science credits?

As long as the four science classes show on your high school transcript, you’ll be fine.

You won’t have a problem. You have clearly taken four rigorous science courses, and another one too. Take APUSH.

You already have four or five science courses including all of biology, chemistry, and physics, so you are well covered in the science area.

What do you want to major in?

Is there a science related elective you could take?

You’re covered. Also, isn’t us history a hs graduation requirement ?

Thank you all @Otterma @ucbalumnus @Lindagaf
Im planning on going into either finance or econ @bopper
I took honors US. This is my skl’s first year offering APUSH @MYOS1634

I’m in the exact same boat as you. I’m a rising senior and I have taken 5 science courses; I’m not taking one next year. Instead, I’m taking an extra math (Honors Calc BC and Honors Stats). Although you didn’t necessarily take 4 school years of science, admissions will still see how many courses you have taken and for how many credits. If you took 4 sciences in 3 years, they’ll view it the same as taking 4 sciences in 4 years; it may even be more impressive!

While you certainly don’t need another science, taking APUSH after Honors USH (and I’m surprised that the school would even allow this) is just a waste of a course, IMO. I’m sure that there is something else within the course offerings that you’d find interesting.

Cool! Im going to be taking Calc 2 (equivalent of calc BC. Took AB last year) and AP stats! lol Seems like we have lots of things in common @ap012199
