Do I need AP physics?

I'm a hs sophomore. I took bio last year and am taking chem this year. I'm definitely not going to take AP bio or AP chem - science isn't really my thing. I'll take regular physics in junior year, but don't know about AP physics. will it hurt my applications that much if I don't have any AP level science courses? I'll be taking everything else at an ap level. I'm not planning on majoring in anything science related and I'll have about 8 or 9 ap's by the time I'm done with hs. what do you think?

I would think it would be pointless to take AP Physics if you don’t plan on doing anything in the science field. Instead of regular physics I would stick to honors physics, though.

Thanks for chiming in. We just have regular physics, and then physics AP.

If you’re planning on applying to a top school, taking at least 2 AP science is probably the better option. If you’re not going to apply to those schools, then it doesn’t matter.

ap physics will probably be a lot harder than regular physics (unless you go to a beast school) so choose wisely

Do you at least have AP Calc or AP Stats?

Yeah, I’ll have AP calc ab and ap calc bc and ap stats. other ap’s will include likely be world history, us history, euro history, psych, english lang, english lit, french, gov/econ, music theory. so from my point of view, I have a ton of ap’s scheduled and I don’t see not having ap science courses taking away from it. I just want to get some other opinions.

I think you’ll be fine.

Math and science are intertwined. Since you took both AP math courses, it’ll be kinda like you took 1 AP Math and 1 AP Science to colleges.

Since you’re not majoring in science don’t do AP Physics. You can probably get an A or B but it’ll eat up a lot of your time.

If you want to go to a top school take at least one AP science school. I think AP Bio is the easiest of the 3. It’s mainly memorization like history (which I saw you took 3).
