If I'm not planning on doing anything math or science-y and I'm definitely going to major in the humanities, do I really need to know Calculus? What would I need it for?

Some aspects of even basic calculus are, in my opinion, quite beautiful. But that’s subjective.

I mean I’m only in Precalculus and it makes me want to die. I can’t even begin to imagine how horrible Calculus will be.

In my school Precalc is actually harder than Calc. A lot of people struggle with precal everywhere, and calc is usually easier, so it doesn’t mean you’ll be bad at calc. :)

What about trigonometry? I can’t wrap my head around it, and calculus seems to involve a lot of trig.

all calculus is is tangents and areas

This is true at my school too. Ask around to people who are in calc right now or have taken calc.

^ True at my school, too. =P

The only trig you need to know is the Pythagorean identity. The rest helps you get back there, but it’s not really necessary
