Ok, so I’m planning on transferring to Uc Davis with the tag program for computer science. I have started taking some igetc class to get them out of the way for when I transfer, but I’m not doing good in chemistry(a requirement for igetc, not for tag) and was hoping to drop it in order to focus more on the tag. I know its a bit confusing but I am generally confused so I thought to post it hoping someone would provide some clarification.
The TAG requirements are on this page: https://www.ucdavis.edu/admissions/undergraduate/transfer/transfer-admission-guarantee/criteria
Since you have questions you should be working with the xfer counselors at your CCC, and you can also talk to the UC reps that regularly visit every CC
Short answer: You do not need IGETC to TAG.
Keep in mind CS is in L&S at Berkeley so if you apply there and consider partial IGETC (missing 1-2 courses), L&S requires full IGETC. You can just do general ed and apply. As MikeMac said talk ideally with a UC rep to find out what you need.
Usually it’s the two English, math and 4 courses, chosen from social science, arts and humanities, and life/ physical (in at least two of those areas). Sometimes there’s an extra req so be sure to check.
