Do I need more safeties, based on my GPA/SAT scores?

I have a 3.7 UC GPA, 3.4 UW.
SAT Highest Sitting: 630 CR, 560 M, 650 W (10 essay)
SAT Superscore (Not much different): 630 CR, 570 M, 650 W (10 essay)
SAT II USH: 610
SAT II Lit: 600

Taking SAT II Math II in Oct, retaking SAT in November and doing some intensive math studying, I think I can predict a 600 at the very least in math.

These are the schools I'm applying to in the fall:
UCB
UCSB
UCR*
UCD*
CSU LB
Cal Poly SLO
SDSU*
UOP*
Chapman*
USC

*Have not visited so not sure if I'll like it. In other words, if I get into only starred schools, there's a chance I might not even feel right on the campus.

I feel like maybe I don't have enough safeties. What do you think? Any suggestions?

Your scores are low for most of the UCs – besides riverside, check out merced. I would add more Cal States to your list if you want to stay in california.

In California, your safety is the community college that you like best. Check them out, and choose one. Some even have dorms if you want to move away from home.

After you find that place, everything else is matches and reaches. Try looking at your current list that way, and see how it feels to you.

My parents don’t want me to apply to UC Merced. =/ But I will check out some more CSUs.
Happymom, if I don’t get in anywhere I’ll be stuck at the local community college, commonly called the black hole because of it’s 5% transfer rate.
