pshaa...with those essay topics and background + your stats (which admittedly aren't perfect), you have amazing chances. as long as your essays are good. come on...first gen. college student, single mom?? you'll do fine. i mean apply to one more safety if you like, but for you i would consider Bucknell & Lafayette near safties (they're amazing schools but your chances at them are just so high). i'd say your fine for your college list.

thanks, i really appreciate your input. I was thinking Lafayette would be near safety bc they hardly have any asians there and im from california and so i thought the demographics would be in my favor
I also visited there over the summer and they asked me that on the supplement so that should look good right?
well thank u soo much for your input

yes you're right about Lafayette..asian thing and summer thing.

also i just realized...i wrote all of this crazy stuff about asians on that other post...i guess that i was just referring to asians in the pool of the MOST competitive schools (Ivys, Williams, Amherst, Wesleyan, Bowdoin, et cetera). i think that at a school like Lafayette, they have almost the same clout as african-americans or hispanics (almost) because there are so few. i'd have to check the stats but i'm just thinking.

but yea...no more on THAT
