Am I suppose to fill something out at my CC that certifies my IGETC so that I don't have to take any lower division classes at UC?

My counselor told me to do it ASAP when I asked, so yes

if you don’t certify it then it doesn’t count. You can’t just show up at your UC and say “look, I took these classes, I’m exempt from the lower-division requirements.” See http://admission.universityofcalifornia.edu/transfer/requirements/additional-requirements/igetc/

Yeah get it certified and then if you get accepted and commit to a UC, you’ll need to send that and your official transcripts. Unless you’ve heard back already, you don’t need to send anything yet.

My counselor showed me how to do that and I got it done today. Thanks for the replies.

I thought you couldn’t get certified until the end of the term?

I don’t know if it’s done but it is at least submitted. You can probably get it certified before the end of the term if you do not have any classes in progress counting towards your IGETC.

Ohh I do have courses in progress though. I’m meeting with my counselor so I’ll figure it out. Thanks for reminding me though, that would be a bad thing to forget.

What’s the process in getting it certified? The admissions and records office told me there will be a box to check when you order transcripts online, but I never found that box when I went on and checked… Is there another way?

At my school you fill out a form with a counselor. I would search the name of your school and “igetc form” online, and make an appointment with your counselor.
