Do I need to file taxes as a work study student?

Hi, I only made about $200 for work-study during my first semester. Do I need to file taxes for this if this is the only income I had all year?

The only reason to file is if any income tax was withheld. If tax was withheld and you want it back (you are entitled to it), you will need to file a return.

Edited to add: if you had other taxable earnings in 2014, such as interest or dividends, the answer may change.

and, did you receive grants and scholarships that exceeded the cost of tuition, fees, books? Then that also results in taxable income.
