I’m planning to apply ED to Brown in the fall, & I recently got my SAT II scores back - 680 French, 710 US History, & 710 Lit. My SAT I’s were 740 V, 740 M, & 800 W.

Also, is it going to kill my chances that I’m not taking AP Calc? Here are my junior & senior year courses:

Junior
-AP US History
-AP Statistics
-Hons British Lit
-Hons Precalc
-Hons Physics
-Hons French IV
-Morality (required)
-Hons Bio
(A in everything, except Stat A-)

Senior
-Hons Music
-AP Music
-AP Gov
-AP French
-Theology (again, required)
-AP Lit
-2 college courses, which will be weighted as APs (one is Sociology, not sure about the other)

I’m planning to apply as a music major (flute, oboe, & piccolo) & play in a well-respected youth orchestra along with my school ensembles, fyi

You don’t HAVE to retake the subject tests or take Calculus. But it should would help.

If you think the extra time and money spent prepping is worth the effort, rather than focusing on your schoolwork, then feel free to retake the tests. Higher scores can’t hurt, though they probably aren’t necessary if your application is solid.

You have statistics and thus 4 years of math - calculus would be nice, but at the expense of what? If math is not your thing, chances are those other courses are better suited for you and your chances.

“But it should would help.”

Oops.

if you want anecdotal evidence, i got in regular decision with the lulziest subj tests:

(an arrow indicates a retake)
french: 590->720
math iic: 720->750 LOOOL
physics: 720
chem: 690
lit: 780 (the only impressive one imo)

yessss i know i took a lot of subject testssss

Generally speaking, anything over 700 is acceptable and not worth retaking efforts. So maybe retake French SAT? (the curve is pretty tough due to the presence of native speakers; I remember when I took it that my 780 was 90th percentile)

I never thought of SAT IIs too highly. I would say only retake if you’re SURE that you can get a higher score–getting something only 10 points higher won’t really reflect well.

If I were you, I’d suck it up and take Calc (personally because I always liked math), and I would retake French and either one of the other one, but that’s given that I felt like I was cheated the first time around.

Not taking either math or science senior year will be a far larger concern than those SATII scores, especially without a math SATII.
