I just took the ACT (second time) about 2 weeks ago, and scored a 21 (26E, 17M, 23R, 18S, 27W; 25ELA, 18STEM).
On my first one, I received a 20 (received about the same for math/science) and improved in the other cateogories on the second take overall.
I’m majoring in secondary music education, currently pretty set on teaching in Illinois. If I’m correct, I need a 22 overall to gain a teaching certificate. So, do I need to retake it to get a 22? Or do they superscore it in any way? Does it vary by state?
I’m honestly not sure, so if someone could explain this to me or suggest advice on what to do moving forward, that would be great.
Note: I’ve been accepted to every school I’ve applied to in spite of this, but I’m fairly certain I got in because of my academic record and extracurriculars/awards. I’m terrible at standardized testing.*
