Do I need to send all AP scores?

I have taken 8 AP tests and I have self reported all of them on common app. My only question is that do I need to also send official ap score reports to all the colleges I am applying to? Will it help my admission chances significantly, or is it really not worth spending $15 per score report to 10 different colleges?

Just to be clear: I am happy with all my ap scores, but I just want to know if i am wasting my money sending score reports to all these colleges.

No, you don’t need to send official AP scores to all the colleges. Once you know which college you’ll be attending, you can send your AP scores IF they give AP credit.

@chercheur is correct. If they allow for self report, just list your scores. Don’t send in until after you’ve decided where to go.

Yes. As others have said, self-reporting is all that’s required. You will not get bonus points for sending in a score report.

Colleges generally do not require you to submit any AP scores for the purpose of determining admission. If the college gives some consideration to such scores (many do not), self-reporting is sufficient. As with anything there is an exception but you will know it when you see it. A few colleges like NYU accept AP scores in lieu of your submitting SAT or ACT scores or in lieu of your submitting SAT subject tests. With those few colleges, if you choose to do the AP alternative, you will need to submit official scores.
