do i need to take a math one? help please!

i have already taken two sat sbject tests
us history 780
bio 720

i signed up for lit, which i will def be taking, in november. i am sure i will do 750+

i also signed up for math2. i probably wont be able to crack 700. math is my worst subject and i have NO intention of studying it in college. i intend to major in polysci/internationsl relations/history.

i heard it was not recommended to forgo the math sat2 when applying to top schools.

do you guys think this will hurt my chances? what do i do?

thanks everyone!

I think if you are not so good at maths, go for the math 1. But beware, math 1 has a nasty curve. If you take math 2, you can still miss some questions and get a 800. But it all depends upon what do you think.

I don't think that they would mark you down for not having a math 2 sat. You can satisfy them equally by taking a math 1 sat and performing good on it especially since you are not majoring in anything related to mathematics.
But it is just my opinion...

so i should take math test, even if it is just math1? dont colleges look at that as a joke?

I don't know about all top schools, but there are some (like all the UC's) that don't consider the math1. If you've had a precalc course or equivalent, then I say you should just go for it. You'd probably score the same as you would on the math1 because of its curve.

I don't know how bad you are, but you'd rather have a 650 on math2 than on math1.

Seconded, which math are you in anyways?

im in ap calc now, but i am not good at math.

i would prob get low 600s.
my question is, does it look bad to not take the test?
do i NEED to take it?
would it look okay if i just took the bio history and lit and scored very well?

thanks for all your help guys!

If you're in AP Calc, you're probably underestimating yourself.

No one can really answer this until we know which colleges you're applying to. Look up what your schools have to say about it.

If they want a math subject test, how would it look for a calculus student to take the math1?

i am applying to

cornell
georgetown
notre dame
princeton
brown
upenn
johns hopkins
gwu
american

most schools only day they require 2 or three, do not specify. i just heard that most schools like to see math? has antome heard this/ can confirm??

Well they don't require, I believe, but it is better to have it
If you're in AP Calc and considering the schools you are applying to, I would recommend taking Math 2. Now don't freak out, get a review book and prepare yourself. As UnleashedFury said, do not underestimate yourself.

I'm taking Math I ,physics and literature on october... and Math II on january.
I'd probably score mathI(780-800) and math II(780-800) , would they consider both alongside with lit and physics ? or would they take math1 phys and lit ?

If you are not careful with Math I, you'll miss some due to carelessness
On the other hand, I missed ~7 on Math II, and got a 790. :]
