How important is taking Physics in high school if I plan on majoring in Biology. I am currently taking 3 AP classes and 2 Honors. One of the honors is in microbiology.

I don’t see how physics relates to biology at all. I don’t think it matters too much, but chemistry is probably a lot more importnt

This is my senior year. I will have taken Biology, Chemistry, and AP Biology, and now Microbiology this year. I started off in AP Physics this year, but really don’t like it. Tomorrow is last day to switch into Microbiology Honors. Is dropping AP Physics and taking Honor Microbiology detrimental to getting into a good college.

Are you planning on med school?

No…I am not planning on med school. I plan on applying to college undecided, but I do enjoy biology and thinking of majoring in it at college. I am concerned that top colleges will automatically dismiss my application just because I didn’t take Physics.

If you’re majoring in Biology, you have three options.
- No Physics
- Regular Physics
- AP Physics B

If you don’t like ap physics you should take regular or honors physics since you plan on majoring in a science. Colleges will wonder why you have taken all of the sciences except physics which is one of the basic sciences.
