On the website, it says you can either take SAT w/ 2 SAT Subject tests OR take the ACT.
I'm taking the ACT and applying to Wharton, but they said they strong encourage applicants to take SAT II Math Level 2. The problem is that I got a 650 on the first time I took it, and Upenn requires to send all testing history.

Well considering Wharton favors applicants with a strong mathematical background, receiving a 650 on the SAT math level 2 certainly does not help your case. However, you can alleviate this issue by simply achieving an 800 on your second testing of the subject test and the Maths section of the SAT I. Other math competition awards in the future should be enough to convince admission committee that the 650 was an aberration.

Receiving an 800 on the math level 2 is imperative as the students that take it generally excel at Maths. This is evident according to the spreadsheet of past exam scores (available on Wikipedia). Wharton also requires you to take the most rigorous calculus course available at your school, so you should self study for the AP calculus BC exam if your school does not offer it.

Math, not maths.

Sorry, pet peeve.

Wikapedia should NEVER be a source.

@GA2012MOM Sorry for the typo hahaha, I was typing the response hastily on a mobile device.@airspirit I admit wikipedia isn’t very reliable, hence I have found the actual document published by collegeboard regarding the percentiles of people receiving certain scores on the SAT Math level 2 subject test, dating to 2012 (relatively recent). According to the Collegeboard document, 15 percent of students received 800 on the Math level 2 subject test, with the mean score being a 677 (higher than your current score). FYI http://media.collegeboard.com/digitalServices/pdf/research/SAT-Subject-Tests-Percentile-Ranks-2012.pdf

You’re not exactly wrong…they call it maths in UK

You do not need an 800 on Math 2, but you should try to improve over a 650. I would definitely want to get it over 700, and hopefully over 750. However, there is not reason to think that you will not get in because you did not have an 800. It is just one component of your overall application.

@GA2012MOM. Why not just answer the OP’s question instead of editing the response of someone who is just trying to be helpful? Sorry, my pet peeve

Yes, you have to take Math II.

You should just try to aim for a higher score. I don’t think one retake will kill you.
