Do I need to take the TOEFL?

<p>Hey, guys! I'm a US citizen currently studying abroad, and I'm applying to colleges in America this year. Is it mandatory to take the TOEFL to get into colleges in the U.S? Although I'm a U.S citizen, I haven't attended high school there. I have scored well on the English and Reading portions of the ACT, if that makes a difference.</p>

<p>You need to email each place on your list, let them know that you are a US citizen educated abroad, and ask them what you need to do. Do not be surprised if each place has a different list of requirements for you.</p>

<p>And yes, there is every chance that some will require that you take the TOEFL.</p>
