Do I, or Do I Not?

Retake the SAT. I got a 2180 in October. I'm not satisfied with my SAT scores not only because they aren't too impressive for the colleges I'm applying to, but because I know that I can do much better. I got 670 in CR in the actual test, but I never got anything below 720 in any of the practice tests that I've taken. I won't be able to retake the SAT in December, because I have a very important test on the Sunday, right after the SAT.

I am not sure whether I should retake in January. High School in India is very rigorous. I really don't think that I would be able to give more than two-three days to SAT prep in January (because my board exams will be knockin' on the door then) . So do you think that I should give it another shot with negligible preparation? I'm a little confused because a part of me doesn't want to go through the testing thing once again after submitting the apps. Then again, I don't want to retake it to get just a 2230 or 2250 in my second attempt.

Oh and will I get to exercise score choice for the Jan test date? I mean I'll be sending them (the scores) before I see them.

You undermine the value of a 2250 over a 2180. Would you be able to manage even that with 3 days prep? That is something for you to ponder upon.

There is a big difference between a 2230 or a 2250 and a 2180. Plus your international, so its even harder for you to get in with a 2180.

I think I’ve made my mind up. I’ll go ahead and retake. This above question is the reason why I was thinking of not retaking.
