I'm not asking if I have a good chance of getting into Columbia. I'm asking if I have the qualification. As of now, I have nothing that makes me stand out. BTW I am a frosh.

-Science research class which is a 3 year elective (does this look good on college app? I am going to take it even if it doesn't look look great on college app.)
GPA: 3.5 ish out of 4.33 UW(I am fully aware that my GPA is low)

That is all I have for now. I will raise my GPA. Make any comments, observations, suggestions. Thank you in advance :)

Can’t say. You have plenty of weaknesses. I’m not sure you should be banking on Columbia.
The research thing helps though.

What are my weaknesses? (other than my gpa)

Like you said, nothing that makes you stand out. Also, you need more than a couple officer positions, with your GPA.
GPA is all that matters. Without a good GPA, chances are, you’re going to be rejected, no matter how good you are, unless you’re a legacy, celebrity, or athlete.

Dont listen to beatles disturbed!

honestly think. This is only your freshman year! You have a lot of time to do stuff…although it does pass by quickly!
Don’t worry too much about your GPA! Just focus on doing your work and taking challenging classes. The good grades and high GPA will come in time!

Now for you ECs, your doing well! And its only freshman year again, your not going to just shoot up and become president of all these clubs! Try to make your summers proactive. Don’t be lazy, do stuff! If you can, go to your local community college and gain up on some knowledge!

Keep working hard and stay off this site!

These overachieving rejects will take a toll on you. lol

^For the record, I didn’t get rejected. I got waitlisted (then accepted) don’t ask me how.
I turned down Columbia.

Thank you to both of you. I’m not planning on giving up. I just wanted to see how other people view my stats.

^^ Honestly, you shouldn’t ask people on here to chance your thread. They dont have the slightest idea on what they are talking about , and neither do i.
We are not admission officers. And its not if people think you can get into Columbia, its only if you are determined and WANT to get into Columbia.

Look, you’re a freshman, a lot can change.

That being said, you look to be in good shape for now. Try to win some awards for your art or get it displayed exhibited, even if only at your local grocery store or coffee-shop.
