<p>I'm not sure what to do. My parents are telling me to apply for financial aid, but my guidance counselor said that we do not qualify. Will it hurt my chances of getting into a particular school if I check the "financial aid" box on my applications? I think my parents make a combine total of 250K or so? Not really sure. thanks!</p>
<p>I think that even if you don't qualify, it's still a good idea to fill out the finaid forms.</p>
<p>some merit scholarships require that you fill out the finaid forms. you should check for each school to see if it has 1) merit scholarships 1a) required finaid forms for those merit scholarships 2) need-blind admissions</p>
