Do I REALLY need math/science?

So I'm not taking a math or science class this year, and I was wondering if that would hurt my chances at schools like BU, BC, etc.

I'm a senior this year, but I took Calc last year (not AP though, so I didn't get college credit) and 3 years of honors science classes.

I'm not planning to major in anything math/science related (prob Communication...something like Public Relations), so do you think it's ok not to take math and science this year?

Math is very important.

also how is calculus not an AP class? I thought Calculus is a college class.

Well, at my school there are 2 levels of Calc--AP and regular. The regular course is just like a regular college-prep type math class, I guess. Def not as hard as AP.

And yeah, I'm def. sure I'm not doing anything science related.

well, not taking a math class is pretty risky. math is pretty much one of the most important core subjects, and even though you might not go into math related anything, it's a skill that almost all majors require. dont worry about science, if you're already taken three years of honors then you're fine.

I would be careful...my son was waitlisted at BU and he took 4 years math...I remember reading somewhere but can't remember where (he was applying last year) that BU really wants 4 years of math.

Well, I technically have 4 years of math done...

honors geometry-freshman year
alg ii/trig-summer after freshman year
honors pre-calc-sophomore year
calc-junior year

Hopefully that'll be ok?

I didn't take any math class senior year and i got into MIT ... i think IF they offer a higher level math course you should take it... they want to see you seize all oppurtunities

I've seen people skip science left and right. But not math...
