I am a transfer student (from a Community College) who is currently in the process of applying to Universities. After some unfortunate events have occurred this semester (I failed a couple of classes). I’m retaking the classes in Winter, so they should be replaced (with A’s) before I finish applying. I’ve been left doubting whether I have a decent shot of the schools that I am applying to. These are my stats and the schools that I am applying to:
Edit: The classes were both Gen Ed, and online; they aren’t related to my major. I screwed up and forgot about them, which resulted in D’s in both.
GPA: 3.60 (was a 3.88 before failing the classes.)
Major: Biochemistry/ Pharmaceutical Chemistry
Strong essays
Very strong EC’s (founded an NGO in my home country etc.)
Schools:
USC (I will definitely attend if accepted, and it is the one that I’m most worried about)
UCLA
UCSD
UCB
UCI
UCD
Please give me some advice about what to do to maximize my chances at USC. Thanks in advance.
