Just writing really quickly, and I know these freaking chance threads on people's nerves...but I just couldn't resist haha ---so it's ucla/ucb/ucsb/ucsc/ucsd

Quick summary:

Went to Tulane for a sem and got a 3.8 (left for personal reasons)

Then went to Univ Miami, 3.73 first sem, then 3.2 next (i almost dropped out.was depressed..blah....it was an awful time and I am trying to cover for that!)--left miami due to the awful econ and realizing i'd be in debt up to my eyeballs forever!

So meanwhile, I have CA residency and am going to moorpark..cum gpa is now a 3.55. I think I can get a 4.0 or at least a 3.76 this sem...so hopefully a cum of at least 3.59 but maybe even 3.64.

Work 12 hours a week

Have gone to other countries and done a little bit of freelance cultural study.

I was in a few clubs but not enough participation to really list them as ec's.. I could lie!! But honestly that's just how it is lol.

Major: Either linguistics, spanish, chinese, or a combo of some of them. I've gotten A's in all language/anthropology classes in college so far, so I hope that'll look good (so maybe like 4.0 major prep?)

Hope that helps! :) Thanks

and i will have 30 units of CC by the end of spring. no worries mate!

Well…I can’t speak in behalf of the top schools like Cal or UCLA, but if you write a good personal statement and smoothly relate it to your major of choice and maintain a competitive GPA (3.5+) you’ll probably have a good chance on getting accepted to UCSB,UCSC, and UCSD. Going to other countries and doing a little bit of freelance cultural study is a great fact to add to your PS. If you completed IGETC and TAG (for UCSD) even better chance of getting in.

I couldn’t do TAG because you need (at moorpark) like 6 honors classes to graduate from TAG and u can i think onlly take 2 a semester. and i just started this semester :-

you are in at UCSB/UCSC. You have a pretty good shot with UCLA as long as you complete all prereq’s. Your stats are competitive for your majors of interest. I don’t know about Cal…I’d say it’s a reach.

seeherfly,
ohhh. haha. sorry moorpark has a weird thing for TAG–instead, they have an honors program which they say is equivalent but you have to complete like 6 honors classes before you leave moorpark, and some of the classes (like some sort of math) i’ve already taken non-honors, so I can’t take them. So, they said that makes me ineligible.
sorry bout that lol. those are their rules :-
if i were at moorpark last year i prob would’ve done this!

you’re in at all UCs, as long as you don’t try to apply for competive majors at ucla and berkeley(bus econ, econ, communications, etc) and finish your pre-reqs for your major with a 3.5 or higher.
