Do I stand a chance of getting into Brown?

Just wondering what my chances are of getting into Brown.

I am a Jewish, black male from North Carolina.
I have cousins who have attended Brown as undergrads and for graduate school.

SAT- 1800
ACT- 26

I know that neither of these scores are good and I am retaking them in June. These scores were the results of taking both tests without any preparation whatsoever prior to the test dates…

My weighted GPA is 4.63
Unweighted is 3.9

AP’s include:
Sophomore year: Psych (4)
Junior Year (Currently): Bio, AB Calc, Lang
Senior Year: Lit, Government and Politics, US History, and Stats

EC’s-

Varsity Cross Country- 2 Years
Varsity Track- 2 Years
Varsity Tennis- 1 Year

NHS (Treasurer)
B’nei Brith Youth Organization chapter President and secretary, former VP of recruitment and membership (For the chapter within my city)
B’nei Brith Youth Organization North Carolina Council President (President of all male members in North Carolina)
National Spanish Honors Society
Volunteer Tennis coach in impoverished neighborhood (2 summers)
Various community service opportunities through BBYO
Freshmen Orientation Delegate
Student Ambassador for rising Freshmen
Selected as only kid from my high school to participate in the SLIDE program (shadowing a community leader for a day)
Selected as the high school representative for the Director of Education search committee at my synagogue
Selected as a student representative to represent my high school for its annual accreditation (I was interviewed by the accreditation organization along with other student representatives)
Athlete of the Week for my high school in city newspaper
Working as an assistant teacher for Sunday School (working with 2nd graders… yikes.)
BBYO convention coordinator (twice)
Attending the BBYO International Leadership Training Convention in the summer

I understand that some of this stuff might be irrelevant when it comes to applying but I guess it doesn’t hurt to include it here… As I said earlier I am retaking the SAT and ACT this June.

I am a really bubbly guy, very sociable, very friendly, very socially liberal, and I intend on studying Poli Sci or humanities of some sort. I just want to do good things for people!

Do you guys think I’d have a chance?

Unfortunately, your test scores are going to really hold you back. I would say at minimum, a 31/32 and something closer to 2150/2200. Even then, it would still be very competitive for admission.

I think you stand a chance,considering the fact that you are athletic and proved to hold a certain level of responsibility,you definitely stand a 70% chance I must say! Your results are not actually going to get you admitted but since you’re even willing to retake you’ll probably score higher… I can tell just by the way you’re determined to get admitted and I wish u the best of luck! Personally,I believe u can even make it to a more prominent university given your potential… Once again,good luck!

Well, this guy has a chance. University consider racial status too. So I think if you get 2000 on SAT you will have a higher chance. But if you’re considering scholarship you won’t likely to get in. University is a business too lol. Hope it helps.

1800 without studying is not bad. When you study really hard, it is not hard to go from an 1800 to a 2100+. I think with a 2100 you would have a solid shot. Being African American will definitely help a lot.

A black jew, how interesting! I’d say study for which ever test you like and take June and October. Also, you’re EC’s are not all that great but nothing a good essay can’t help.
