I'm thinking of doing EA. I know the scores aren't spectacular for Princeton, but is it worth a shot?

Also, I am not an American citizen, and I will be applying for International need-based financial aid.

competition’s pretty stiff for internationals (or so I’ve heard…) so that automatically lowers your chances by a lot.

I think you seem like a really great candidate, though! It’s just hard for me to say anything with some level of conviction since you have a lot of… barriers to overcome admissions-wise (through absolutely no fault of your own)

I reckon you’ll get through.
Send your ACT Scores
Youre in 11th or 12th?

@rishabmeh 3 I will be in 12th this when school starts in 2 weeks.

“I reckon you’ll get through.”

unfathomable: this exemplifies the worthlessness of asking HS students to give you your chances. Princeton’s last class had an admit rate of 7.9%. What does “I reckon you’ll get through” mean?

No one can predict your chances. Even someone in the Princeton admissions offices can’t.

I’m a parent of a current student. My take is that your profile is strong and would be put in the “well considered” pile, but you would need standout recommendations and essays. Interview will need to be strong as well.

More than one of the admissions officers would have to love you. What’s your “hook?” What makes you really different?

It’s definitely worth a shot! Definitely apply and try to write amazing essays!

Your scores make you competitive. So apply. Other than that, no one can tell you your chances.

increase your chances with SCEA

Based on the numbers it would appear that SCEA means a lot higher admission rate. Keep in mind that most recruited athletes (probably more than a hundred…possible two hundred) will be admitted through SCEA since they may otherwise sign with another D1 school. With those students taken out of the admission rate statistics, the SCEA rate doesn’t look as strong.

I think it depends on your reason. I got low SAT but my reason why even Harvard doesnt offer me the right resources for my research won over the admission committee.
