Do I stand a chance?

Everyone on CC is so well rounded and overwhelmingly competent; I want to know if I am out of my mind applying to any of these schools: Yale, UPenn, Harvard, MIT, Cornell, Duke, UMich, UNC Chapel Hill, UC Berkeley. I'm not necessarily trying to determine whether I will get in or not, but I just want to make sure I'm not dreaming for wanting to apply to some of these school.

Essays: Common App essay likely to be very strong

Yes! I’d say you definitely have a shot. You have strong grades and pretty good EC’s, enough to give you a good chance at most of those schools. It looks like you have a big passion in orchestra and french, which is great; it’s better to have a strong passion in some things to just be “well rounded” in everything.

I would say you have a really good shot at Chapel Hill, Berkeley, and UMich. Duke and Cornell look like low reach schools. Yale, Upenn, and Harvard are going to be as hard for you as they are for any of us. The only one I’m not sure of is MIT because your ECs don’t really speak to a focus in math or science. Good Luck!

Also, chance me back?

Your chances at the state schools look very good. All of the other schools, regardless of stats, tend to be reach schools.

You are a qualified applicant for these schools, but some of these schools have very low acceptance rate even with these credential. You should definitely give them a try. Just make sure you have a couple safeties as well.
