My junior year is coming to a close and I’m starting to get worried about college and I’m starting to feel like my dreams for going to a great school are gone. I’ve always focused on academics and have been fairly successful with a 3.95 gpa and I’ve taken 4 ap classes. I’m going to take the real SAT in June but I took a practice one today and got 1440. So I think I’m decent on the academic side but my problem is with extracurriculars. I’ve been in wrestling all of high school but that’s about it. This year I realised that I need to try to get more invovled so I’ve joined honor society and key club but I still don’t feel like I’ve meet the requirements for an Ivy League.
So I just want to know what you guys think and if I still stand a chance.
It’s too late at this point to focus on making the Ivy League, since you need to have super strong and committed ECs related to your major (e.g. published research/works, major internships, etc).
Are you going to wrestle in college? Getting into the Ivies is super crazy even with perfect scores/gpa/tons of EC. Focus on finding good match schools where you’ll be happy with the campus community and aligns with your interests.
