Do i stand a chance?

hey everyone-
I’m applying ED to Penn (the college) this fall and I wanted to know what people think my chances are. I’m gonna try to make this quick, pretty much:

I am a white, jewish female from connecticut
GPA:
Weighted: 4.26
Unweight 3.96
I take the most rigorous curriculum and have had all A’s except one B in AP English. I took four AP’s last year: Chem (5) Macro Econ (5) Micro Econ (4) French Language (4) and English
This year my courses are:
AP Psychology
AP French Lit
AP Physics
AP Calc AB
AP English Lit
Independent study on developing economic and globalization

SAT: my first SAT scores sucked (2040) but Ive studied a lot over the summer an have been scoring conistently over 2200 on practice tests

SAT II: Math 2C 790, Chemistry 760

I’m not gonna list all my EC’s but some include:
Volunteering tutoring inner city children (10-12)
Volunteering at local TV Station- editing, directing, produced a show on childhood nutrition, camp counselor at video production camp for underprivileged children (9-12)
Youth Group (9-12) Junior Advisor (12), president (11), communications VP (10)
Started a fund in community that send meals to Jewish refugees in Ethiopia. (raised around 4000 meals last year)
Tennis- Varsity for 3 years, 2 singles player, all conference all academic, captain
Community service club (9-12)
Yachad Hebrew High School (9-11) Staff for school newspaper (9,10,12) school literary magazine (11,12) chemistry club (11) and lots of other various things that I dont feel like listing.
I participated in a french exchange program and traveled to France the summer before my junior year, hosted two french girls the summer before mysophomore year. Last summer I participated in summer program at Brown. Something that was also very interesting for me was that I recently attended a conference for international NGO’s at the UN with I man I know from Ghana. Pretty much I am very interested in economics and international relations, but I’m not 100% sure what I want to do. I have a strong commitment to social awareness which I discuss in one of my essays. I have not had any significant work experience. Instead I spend my time volunteering and giving back to the community, helping the people who really NEED the money.
I think my recs will be excellent, and I have another very strong connection to Penn which I’m not going to say because I want you guys to evaluate my chances without taking this into consideration.
Also, my brother currently attends Penn and is doing very well there (Dean’s list and stuff like that)

Mainly, I am obsessed with Penn. Going to Penn has been my goal since I was in elementary school. I love everything about it, academics, location, atmosphere, research opportunities etc. etc. My why penn essay definetly shows how much I want to be at Penn (now I just need to trim it down to one page :-/)

Sorry this turned out so long…I got a bit carried away!

anyone????

I think that you're about 85-90%, especially ED.

nice app

what research opportunities does penn offer?

penn offers many undergraduate research opportunities.

that is so cute. I've decided I love people who are obsessed with Penn. I think everything looks good ~ they'd be silly to reject you.

ok?
eeeeeeee (sorry i need to make this 10 characters!!)

quick? whaaa?

ok then...

anyone else?

without the sat, id say poor to less poor

bump?
10 characters

you're fine. do good on the essay. and listen to robertson.

hey you are a lot like me, I do a lot with teen voice and child poverty

I think you have good shot at penn ED, but you have to raise those SATs

You don't stand a chance. You won't get in

im a white, jewish female from connecticut too! haha we're cool.

How does your school weight? Do honors As get 5.0? If so, wouldn't your GPA be closer to 4.9 with just one B on your transcript? What is your class rank, and what kind of school(how competitive) do you attend? Most importantly, how many have gotten into Penn each year, and how do you stack up to them. You can go to your GC and ask - it's public record and they have to give it to you.

no...my school weights honors A's as 4.5 not 5, but with a number of required standard courses, its impossible to get much above 4.3. I don't know my exact rank but I'm somewhere in the top ten out of 400 students, so like top 2-3% My high school is a very competitive suburban school. Hmm...last year one person applied ED and got in, the year before 7 or 8 applied RD and ED and 3 got in...

I think your chances are excellent.

i think you are a lock
