I'm trying to go to University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Unfortunately I came from private school all of middle school and when I finally got to public high school I was very cocky seeing as i had always gotten A's and high B's at this private school. Also according to my brothers, who both went to UNC, said that it was too easy. for some reason i took this to mean "wow i guess i don't have to work hard anymore and i can still get great grades". Please don't ask because i still have no clue why I thought of it this way. Anyways this took a big effect on my grades, obviously, and left me with mostly mid B's, 2 C's, and 2 A's for my freshmen year. By the way my school is on a 4x4 scheduling block. Now a sophomore, as our first semester is coming to a close in about a month my grades are looking much better but still not as great as the could be. I have 2 A's and 2 B's however i am certain that next semester i can continue to improve my grades. my overall weighted GPA is a 3.6 right now. Yes i do know this i nowhere near good enough for Chapel Hill, but i am looking for all the different ways i can fix this, as well as any other tips i can get to increase my chances of accept ion? i am already in a special program at my school so i take all honors classes and i am taking an AP class right now that i have a high A in. how else can i boost my GPA? should i take classes online over the summer for this? what kind of extra curricular's should i look for? i am already involved in 1 sport and it is going to be 2 next year. i am also involved in key club and i have over 100 volunteer hours that i am going to continue to add onto, and i had a part-time job over the summer. Any help is appreciated!

You’re good dude. Just concentrate on your studies, focus when it really counts. You’ll be fine as long as you have a goal, and that goal is to obviously go to UNC. Don’t give up, you still have A-Z plans. If you want to do something extraordinary don’t be lazy, go out get it. To be a better well rounded student play sports or something. Colleges like that you can handle physical activities and at the same time obtain good grades. Start studying for SATs. Earn leadership positions in school and community groups. Find a hobby. Be creative and persevere, these things will take you far in life. Good luck dude!
