Do I still have a chance

Deferred from school of Kinesiology OOS… still waiting to hear back. Sent letter of interest and received the response that a lot of people are getting. I was wondering if I still had a chance to get in?

GPA: Freshman and Sophomore year it was about a 87-8% due to some personal issues which I described in my application, It was about 93% Junior Year and so far this year it has been a 96%. A possible weakness is that because of my low GPA frosh/soph year I was not able to take as many honors/AP courses until this year

ACT: Took twice 32 both times (highest E:33 M:30 R:36 S:34)

Essays/Recs: I think my common app essay was okay, the other two were great. Could not read my recs but assuming they were good.

Activities: Four years of Football and Bass Fishing, president of a Sports Broadcasting club, NHS, Student Government Class Rep, Campus Ministry, Tons of service hours and experience with children with autism. Two jobs (Lifeguarding and teaching a cooking class for adults with autism)

Any guidance would be appreciated

Just cross your fingers and work on a backup plan. It’s all you can do. If there is some particular accomplishment or award that comes your way, don’t hesitate to update your application with that information. Finish your senior year with the best grades possible. It sucks that your early years hurt you…but the competition is fierce. Wishing you only good things. I hope you get in after all. Good luck! Here’s a thought…if you could do some volunteer work specifically related to physical therapy, or spend some time as a job shadow, getting a professional reference…those things would be good updates for your application, too…and would suggest you have a sincere commitment.
