Do I still have a chance?

Hi, I really want to pursue a career in the medical field. It’s something I’ve always been interested; however, I made the stupid mistake of not taking AP Bio or AP Chem. I execel academically I really do, but what are my chances of excelling as a premed without a strong science background? I took Physics in the summer prior to my 9th grade year, took Biology as a freshman, chemistry as a sophomore, anatomy and physiology as a junior, (received all A’s) and my science courses stopped there. I really don’t know why I didn’t take AP Bio or AP Chem…I’m very ashamed of my poor choices. I’m applying to the campuses of the University of California. Would it even be recommended to major in a science major such as biology or chemistry? In another thread I did I talked about what major I should select, the responses told me my chances of excelling as a premed are low. This has put me in a state of doubt and shame. I’m currently a senior. What should I do? Are my chances to excel as a premed student really low? Would some of you recommend I completely change my desired career and pursue a different one? Please, any advice/opinions would be great appreciated. I’m in a state of uncertainty.
Note: I did take other AP courses just not the AP science courses and I frankly don’t know why I didn’t
