I'm currently a sophmore at a very competitive high school and my freshman year grades aren't stellar. I consistently received B's in Honors Geometry because my teacher was very difficult giving very few tests and no quizzes per marking period - my overall grade for the class was a B. All my other grades were A's.

My courses last year were:
Honors Geometry, I took a study hall which I regret, Honors English, World History (standard, it was the only course available), Honors Debate, Honors Biology, Latin 2
My weighted GPA for my freshman year was in the 4.1-4.2 range.

This year my grades are significantly better, with the exception of Honors Alg 2, but I have a higher B maybe A- in it.
My courses this year are:
Honors English, Honors Debate, Honors CADD 1, Honors Alg 2, AP US History, Honors Chem, Honors Latin 3

I've been on honor roll since Freshman year.
What I'm worried about most are those B's my freshman year and this year.
I plan on majoring in business or doing pre-law, but even so I'm worried my math grades
will have a huge negative impact on my admissions to any school.
Do I still have a chance at this school even with such grades?
I have been upset and distressed over this subject for a long time.

My EC's are:
-Freshman soccer
-took 3 different courses at John Hopkins Center for Talented Youth camp
(attended 3 years), this summer I will be taking a course for the same program in China (CTY Nanjing)
-National Latin Exam Award (Gold Medal 3 years, Magna Cum Laude this year)
-I participate in Model United Nations and many Model Congresses
- Best Delegate Award at Harvard Model Congress 2007
- I have 60+ hours of community service so far
-Vice President 2007 of Chinese Cultural Center's Teen Youth Council of South Jersey (was a member my freshman year)

Clubs include: FBLA, Interact, Latin Club, Students United for Driving Sober, International Affairs

That is all I can think of right now.

I plan on running for a officer position in FBLA, Interact, and Internatinal Affairs during my HS career. I also plan on doing cross country and mock trial for the remainder of HS.

Advice for future plans would be much appreciated.

thanks :]
