Do I Still Have a Chance

As I finalized my college list, i discovered to my horror, that Pitzer says your high school studies should include 3 years of foreign language. COllege Board Website says they require three...

Here's my problem..I took Japanese my freshmen and Soph year. However, the class was a joke ( i think i averaged like a 97) and really wasn't challenging..so I dropped it my junior year in favor of AP Psych

Am i screwed for admissions, or do i still have a snowball's chance in h*ll?

I took 7 APs in high school..i'm third in my class, and have a 34 ACT if that affects anything

The reason why you dropped it doesn’t really matter since it won’t say “dropped because it was easy” on your transcript.

Pitzer isn’t that hard to get into and your ACT score is way higher than their average so you should be fine. Have your counselor send a note or something saying why you dropped it or mention it in your interview if Pitzer offers them. Where else are you applying?

I emailed them on thursday to explain the situation

I’m also applying to Smith, Union, Scripps, Pomona and UAlabama

Did they email you back? I’m sure they’ll say how it will effect your admission.

I would take a Japanese class this summer or something, though.

You should check out some higher schools. Your scores and rank put you far above all of those schools except Pomona (which is a good match).

I don’t care about higher schools
I just want to know if i still stand a shot at pitzer

there is no way for me to get japanese in before college unless i wait until next summer…

argghhhhhh

i hope they email me back soon
